About us

The Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center was established in 2019 by a group of Azerbaijani Canadian professionals, with the aim of uniting and supporting the Azerbaijani community in Canada, while providing them with the available opportunities and assistance.

Our Mission

One of the main goals of establishing the organization is to study the current social and domestic challenges of Azerbaijanis residing in Canada and to help solve them within our capabilities. To expand the network for Azerbaijani entrepreneurs and experienced professionals and increase employment opportunities for Azerbaijanis residing in Canada is one of the targets of ACMC.

We feel obliged to create an opportunity for children to learn their native Azerbaijani language and practice their traditions, despite being far from their home – Azerbaijan.

The main purpose of the Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center is to become a key guide for Azerbaijanis residing in Canada and facilitate their integration into local society, as well as to develop intra-community relations.

Voluntarism principle

Based on the principle of voluntarism, the Center has established working groups in various fields such as financial and legal services, child development, Media and PR, Charity, Recruitment etc. These groups are always open to compatriots who want to join the organization.

Our financial resources

The annual budget of the Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center will be formed through donations from Azerbaijani entrepreneurs in Canada, volunteers, educational services, exhibitions and event sales.

It is also planned to establish cooperation with local government agencies and public organizations to obtain their technical and social assistance. The Center will report on its revenues and expenditures to all members of the organization and relevant government agencies once a year.

The Center, which is always open for new members, has already entered an active phase of building a comprehensive action plan for 2020.

Leaders elected by open ballot within groups will then be presented to a single Management Board of the Center. The members of the Management Board, who will play a key role in making the final decisions, will be rotated on a regular basis based on the principle of transparency.

In addition, the process of Azerbaijani professionals in Toronto joining the Management Board of ACMC is underway.

Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of the Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center. The Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of the Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center.

No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.

The Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.

The Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center will accept donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of the Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center.

Certain other gifts, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center.

The Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center will provide acknowledgments to donors meeting tax requirements for property received by the charity as a gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center.

The Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, the Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know.

The Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders' fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to the Azerbaijani Canadian Multicultural Center.
